Aaron B. Harnett, BA, LL.B, obtained his law degree in 1990 from Queen’s University Law School, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto. He completed his articles at the firm of Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt, and has practised exclusively in the area of criminal law since his call to the bar in 1992.
His notable cases include the landmark decision legalizing medical marijuana by the Ontario Court of Appeal in R. v. Parker, the striking down of provisions governing the searches of law offices (s.488.1 of the Criminal Code) in the Supreme Court of Canada’s R. v. Fink and the murder trial in the death of Toronto police officer William Hancox.
Aaron B. Harnett is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and a member of the Criminal Lawyers Association. He is licensed to practice law in the Province of Ontario.
